When my son needed a “real” spin cast rod and reel for beginners, I knew we had to go for these trusty products. It’s a light weight classic that I remember from my youth and he quickly picked up on how to use it properly. This is a much higher setup than you will find on many of the only slightly less expensive “beginners” setups. The 5’ length works well for him at 6 years old and he’s thoroughly enjoying it.
