For hunters looking to spot and identify game safely from afar with high accuracy, the Leica Calonox View thermal camera is the perfect hunting companion – by day or night, even under the most challenging conditions. With the Calonox thermal cameras, Leica continues its long, successful track record in digital image optimization, and extends its excellent reputation as a camera manufacturer. Leica’s own image processing (Leica Image Optimization – LIO) improves the image with special algorithms, thus achieving particularly detailed color gradations, excellent contrast, and high detail resolution.
The outstanding recognition range of the Leica Calonox View is based on a high-end vanadium oxide (VOx) sensor with 640 x 512 pixels and 12 µm pixel size with excellent temperature resolution.
The Leica Calonox View has 16 GB internal memory for recording special observations as photos or videos. Using the Calonox View App, the stored images can be transferred to a smartphone via WLAN, or to a computer via cable. Live view observations are also possible via cell phone. See more, identify game safely: With a defined target size of 1.7 x 0.5 m, the Leica Calonox View can detect targets up to a distance of 3,000 meters, recognize targets up to 1,000 m, and precisely identify them up to 500 m. Ideal for close-up observations, the 42-mm objective in combination with the 2.5x basic optical magnification provides a large field of view and the best overview. The digital zoom can be set to a magnification of up to 10x, so that no details remain hidden, even at great distances.
The four color modes White Hot, Black Hot, Red Hot, and Rainbow provide practical display variations and greater, high-contrast detail recognition. The shapely product design in the well-known Leica style is geared towards the user’s hunting needs. Its cylindrical shape and easy operability integrate perfectly into the hunter’s equipment. The user-friendly, intuitive three-button menu offers streamlined navigation, which enables easy and quick handling even when wearing gloves.

I bought the thor lt 3 was ago at 50 yards using a thermal target in 20 degree weather the image is all distorted. Adjusted all the adjustments that needed to be and still can’t see the thermal target

This is my first thermal. I was expecting more based on all the great reviews but I was left feeling like I paid high end prices for dollar store quality. It’s definitely not ‘all that and a bag of chips’. That being said, I can definitely see ATN being a great company to invest in for future thermals, and in hindsight, I should have spent more money. The 4x Optic is great but when you get to the 8x the picture is super grainy and pixalated.

So far, I am pretty impressed with this scope. It has no frills, just does what I need it to do – show me varmints and pigs. I don’t need streaming, wifi, distance, etc. I just want the vision in the dark, without breaking the bank. This scope does just that. I am not going to tell you that it is going to compete with the $5,000 or even the $3,000 scopes. But, I don’t need it to. If you want to get into thermal with a serviceable, very nice scope, don’t hesitate like I did. I had a hard time pulling the trigger on this scope (bad pun) because of a not-so-positive experience on an ATN night vision scope my son purchased a few years ago. They have definitely stepped up their game with the new thermals.

Used the scope a couple of days and is working as advertised. going out two or three times each next night to see what is in the field and woods. able to see as small as a rabbit. wish I had bought one sooner.

For a modestly priced thermal site this works very well. For best viewing it seems to be good to start with a long range view to let the sites electronics get oriented/ auto nuc. I like that it lets me safely acquire targets in low light or poor contrast.

I received the scope in a timely manner and it works well, however, optics planet failed to send the free QD mount with my order so I as of yet I’m unable to mount it on a rifle. I tried every method possible to contact optics planet to rectify the problem but they never responded, very poor customer service, I do recommend the product, I also recommend you buy it somewhere that cares about their customers.

The scope came delivered as promised. The shipping was fast (all things considered). It appears solid and well built. I turned it on initially and everything seems to work great. Looking forward to getting it zeroed in and day it to use! Well done!!

I’ve had this Scope for about 7 months now it’s worked great up until this past weekend when I went to look through it because there was something out in the pasture and there were really bad lines going down the screen. Not sure if it needs and update or what going to get in contact with Pulsar and see what I need to do. But it’s been a great scope up until this point but for the money you can’t beat it.
