STEADFAST 300 BLK 125gr HP SMK
The STEADFAST 300 BLK 125gr HP SMK was originally based on the .221 Fireball case necked up to .30 caliber. However, reloaders have found the .223 Remington or 5.56×45mm NATO works well when shortened and resized to .30 caliber. Firing in the .300 Whisper chamber results in a slightly sharper shoulder. Magnum pistol powders such as H110 work well for supersonic loads. Sierra 240 grain (16 g) jacketed bullets work well if the barrel has a 1:8 twist. Barrels with a 1:10 twist will stabilize 220 grain (14 g) bullets at subsonic speeds. 125 grain (8 g) bullets will reach 2,400 ft/s (730 m/s).
300 Blackout vs. 308
The 300BLK has a trick up its sleeve, however. One of the biggest draws of the 300 BLK is its performance with subsonic ammunition. With the increased popularity of suppressors, the use of subsonic ammo has surged. Subsonic ammo doesn’t generate the “crack” of a bullet breaking the sound barrier. So, the overall noise level of firing is noticeably less than with supersonic ammo, especially when firing with a suppressor. Subsonic ammo may only have six to 10 grains of powder. Combine a significantly reduced powder charge with a bullet that never breaks the sound barrier, and a suppressed 300 BLK is substantially quieter than a hidden 308. While the subsonic loadings generate much less velocity, they typically have bullets weighing more than 190 grains. Advantage goes to the 300BLK here.
The 300 BLK contains a much smaller powder charge. Most 110 to 150-grain bullets typically loaded into supersonic 300 BLK ammo receive around 20 grains of powder. A 110-grain bullet leaves the muzzle of a 16-inch barrel at approximately 2,250 feet per second. Compare those numbers with 308 ballistics, and you can start to understand the differences between the two cartridges.
This Bulk Pack may contain BLEMS. As a result, some rounds may have cosmetic defects such as surface scratches, dings, or tarnish. These cosmetic defects will not inhibit performance.

Sub MOA groups from a picky Savage 11 VT w24″ heavy barrel @100m. Shooting sub/1 MOA groups from 200m. Hitting steel at 600m using Nikon BDC app. and factory load specs. Happy, happy, happy.

I went to 180 from 150, my Savage 110 308 shoots like a guided missile, 118 yds and 3 rds where under an inch. I used a rest to zero scope in, at least I know now, if I miss , Its me. My Savage has a 1-10 twist and it seems to work best with the 180 grain

I use the CMMG 22LR conversion kit in my AR-15 and have read that a copper plated bullet is cleaner than a lead-head bullet. After putting nearly 100 rounds through the barrel, I can say that it seemed like there was less residue when I cleaned the gun so I am very happy with these rounds.

Clean, accurate, with no failures to fire. No problems with feeding, fed very well. The downside is the cost per round, is getting quite expensive.

Fed very well with no issues. Accurate, and American made. Downside is boxes of 150 appear to be filled by weight with the scale set a bit light. All my boxes arrived taped shut and contained only 146 rounds vs. the advertised 150. The cost per round is bad enough without short selling customers.

Good reliable ammo for being bulk.

I bought a 150 round pack at cabelas for $90. That’s about .60 a round. Not sure why Midway is so much more expensive.

Since reloading supplies are few and far between I decided to buy a 22LR and got a Savage MKII and put a Vortex Viper 6.5-20 I had lying around. I got this ammo and my rifle loves it. No misfires and I got excellent groups at 100 yards. I compared it to some CCi Stingers I had and the Winchester shot as well if not a little better. In a few days I’ll see how it does at 200 yards. I only wish Midway would have sold me 3 boxes instead of limiting me to 1 so I can shoot more but rules are rules.

This is great ammo for a 22LR firearm take is suitable for supersonic Velocity ammo. Now my Ruger target from Ruger was not designed to shoot this velocity ammo. I have in stall all key parts required for supersonic velocity ammo and fires, feeds without jams. It’s not ammo when these things happen most often the gun was not designed to handle and would need converted.
