Excellent to 300 yards at least
This is my second review of the Athlon Talos scope. I’ve used it repeatedly to look at 300 yard targets. I can clearly see the holes in my Splatterburst targets at 300 yards. Also, the little tripod that comes with it, which I disparaged in my first review, is fine for 300 yards sitting on the bench. Again I really like the fact that the entire body can swivel to put the eyepiece at a comfortable angle. Nice spotting scope and the price makes this an exceptional value.

great value
As the other comments say, it is a great value for the money. I can clearly see hits on my steel gong at 300 yards. For 150 dollars I don’t think you can go wrong. I am also not going to be worried about dropping it or getting it dirty. I had looked at scopes in the 800 dollar range and decided that for me, there just wasn’t another 700 dollars of value with the other scopes. And yes the tripod they supply is cheesy but I have used it and it’s much smaller than the heavy full size tripod that I have so there will be occasions that I will use the supplied tripod.

Quality Glass for a discount price
Excellent spotting scope for on and off the range. Seeing 22 size holes are no longer a problem. Even makes a great telescope for my little astronomer, We could easily see every little detail of the moon.

Good starting point for your first spotting scope
You don’t always get what you pay for. In the case of this spotting scope you get more. I needed something to help sight in optics out to 100 yards and this fits the bill perfectly. Im sure it would still be effective at longer distances. Surprising clear glass and nice build quality for what I paid. Don’t let the low price fool you.

For the price you won’t find one better
I purchased this spotting scope right before we left for elk hunting in Colorado. I am quite please with the clarity. For the price of this scope you won’t find one better. It’ll be perfect for the firing range also.
