Developed to improve precision and accuracy with any style or caliber of weapon, the Trijicon RMR (Ruggedized Miniature Reflex) Type 2 is designed to be as durable as the legendary ACOG. The RMR Type 2 is an LED sight powered by a standard CR2032 battery. Housed in rugged forged aluminum, the RMR Type 2 is extremely tough yet lightweight. Easy-to-use adjusters with audible clicks allow for quick windage and elevation adjustments. The Trijicon RMR Type 2 is tougher than any alternative and suitable for military, law enforcement and hunting applications.
With eight available brightness settings, the reticle can be manually adjusted by pressing the plus or minus buttons on either side of the unit. To switch to auto adjust mode simply press both buttons simultaneously and release. To save battery life turn the optic off by pressing both buttons simultaneously and holding for 3 seconds.

I purchased two of the Type II RMRs. One has bee great, although they do not come with the appropriate mounting hardware so you will need to research what you need. The other RMR has very stiff buttons to control it’s brightness settings making it very difficult to turn off. I returned it since it was my wife’s sight and she could not effectively operate it. Optics Planet promptly sent a replacement. This one too is very difficult to operate. I wonder if someone just sent the same sight back to me.

Didn’t come with correct screw for mounting on Glock, didn’t come with the waterproofing plate. Other than that I got what I wanted, trijicon should add these parts for as much as you pay. It would be nice to be informed by somebody or have the option to purchase it all together.

When I was upgrading my first Glock 19, I tried to save a buck and go with a more cost effective optic. While it was about $200 dollars less, it had frequent issues that required me to have It replaced under warranty. My red dot experience had been less than stellar. I ended up buying a Glock 17 and sent the slide out for milling and this time I went with the RMR cut. I ordered this optic and when it arrived I was blown away. First of all, the build quality is top tier. Next, the 3.5 MOA is just right. The dot is precise and makes for insanely easy and quick target acquisition. Lastly, this thing is just beautiful. On the gun it looks phenomenal. The fun required no modification other than the optic cut. I’m running a stock guide rod spring and the gun cycles rounds like a dream. I’ll say this, I was so impressed that I sold the slide on my Glock 19, purchases a new slide that I sent out for and RMR cut and I ordered a second RMR.

This definitely should have been my first purchase. Tried to save some money by getting a Holosun. Sent it back because the dot was blurry and had this spiderweb effect casting off the dot. I pushed aside my cheaper mentality and much happier now. Dot is crisp and clear, with and without my glasses. I’ve seen reviews that some do not like the auto function, but I do. The setting of dim and brightness are what I would have put them at myself anyways. The speed that it adjust is pretty quick in my opinion as well. Buyer beware: you get what you pay for.

I love this this thing, I can see why so many trust their lives to it. It may cost a little more than other red dots but I’m confident it’ll work when it’s needed. Optics planet had the best price of anyone and with the coupon code I feel I got a great price .

I have several thousand rounds downrange with these optics now. I can say without a doubt that they are very rugged, have great battery life (over a year for me on all RMR’s I’ve owned), and are high quality. I also own a RMR with the 1 MOA dot as well as the 6.5 moa dot and this 3.25 MOA dot is by far my favorite dot size. This one has been through several training classes and has held up very well. I like it so much, it’s on the handgun I carry every day. If you’re looking for a red dot that you can trust your life with, that is made in America, this is what you want.

I own several of these(1moa,3.25moa,6.5moa as well as a 5MOA SRO) along with many Holosun, Sig, vortex RDS, my tires near blind eyes really can’t shoot with iron sights so literally every pistol I own has an RDS mounted. The RMR is really the gold standard for MRDS/RDS(pistol mounted).

I bought a Springfield TRP 1911 10 mm that had a trijicon rmr already mounted on the slide. It is not clear at all. like looking through a glase of water. it actually magnifies the image a little but very blurry. was told to send it back and they can fix in 4 to 6 weeks. For over 500 dollars you would think quality control would pick up something like that. i have other red dots and they have all been very good. thought i would pay double for the best, which turns out to be the worst.

While I still believe rmrs yo be durable as I’ve used them for years with no issues, my type 2 came with a scratched lense. It can only be seen in certain lighting conditions but when it rears it’s ugly head it is very distracting. I’m going ask optics planet to exchange it. Hopefully they take care or if.
